Health, Safety and The Environment
Health and Safety
At EuroTop safety comes first. We monitor all activities on site and constantly look to upgrade our policies to exceed the compliance requirements.
Our trades and supervisors undertake intensive training to prevent and recognise potential hazards; while experience is critical it is important that both old and new members of the team stay current. Regular 'Toolbox Talks' and rigorous procedures are followed strictly to ensure full compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Decent Homes projects involve working in properties inhabited by a diverse range of residents including elderly tenants and children under parental supervision; we are proud to report zero incidents operating in this kind of environment. EuroTop accepts nothing less than perfection with regards to Health and Safety.
The Environment
EuroTop supports WRAP's 'Halving Waste to Landfill' Initiative. We are fully committed to the Environment and carefully consider our impact in all projects and processes.
We minimise our environmental impact at each project stage; pre-construction we source local materials to reduce travel distances, and suggest suitable alternative sustainable materials; at the operational phase we use a system of 'Reuse, Recycle and Reduce', any waste produced is segregated on-site and transported to local waste management companies.
Refurbishing properties also allows to increase energy efficiency:
• Installing insulation (walls, ceiling, floors, pipework)
• Using energy efficient lighting
• Ensuring heating systems are up to current standards
We operate effectively and efficiently while being environmentally friendly.
Community
We believe it is important to be pro-active in supporting the areas in which we work. Our business engages the local community in several ways:
Local Employment – We use local labour for projects wherever possible as in our experience residents like to see local people who understand their values and culture working on their homes. Our apprenticeships provide a solid foundation for young locals looking to start a career in construction.
Local Procurement – By sourcing materials from local suppliers we can help stimulate the local economy while rejuvenating housing in the area. In most projects we can achieve at least 50% local sourcing.
Local Support – Wherever we can help we are always keen to get stuck in; this year we sponsored a football team, who were struggling financially, to go on tour. EuroTop proudly sponsors several charities including 'The Halow Project' and humanitarian aid campaign 'In Solidarity with Romania'.
